Nursery on Notch Hill

Providing Quality Early Childhood Education Since 1971

Each day at our school, we engage our students in group projects that span a variety of subjects, including art, science, math, and writing. These activities are designed to foster self-expression, cognitive growth, exploration, and fine motor skill development.

During circle time, students have the opportunity to sing, dance, express their ideas, and share their feelings in a group setting. We also focus on developing reading readiness through storytelling, language use activities involving hand gestures that introduce students to the richness of language in rhythm and rhyme.

We also offer free-choice activities, providing a relaxed environment where students can learn through play. Our spacious classrooms are equipped with a wide range of toys and materials for creative art, block building, sand and water play, dolls, dramatic play, educational puzzles, games, trucks, and trains. Additionally, our indoor gross motor area and expansive outdoor playground offer spaces for students to exercise and develop their gross motor skills.

Our dedicated staff communicates with children in a clear, direct, and positive manner. We strive to minimize opportunities for unsafe behavior, ensuring an atmosphere of cooperation and productivity.

We maintain small class sizes in our preschool program, with a favorable teacher-to-child ratio of 1:6. Our top-tier two’s program boasts a 1:4 teacher-to-child ratio. We also host classroom visitors and family events throughout the year.
